Utah Clean Energy
In January 2001, a volunteer-based, public interest group, Utahns for an Energy Efficient Economy (“UE3”), formed to promote energy efficiency and clean energy technologies in Utah. UE3 provided information and education to the public and policy makers and advocated for sustainable energy policy during the 2001-2002 Utah Legislative session.
UE3 was also involved in utility regulatory proceedings that affect the future deployment of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency and began outreach to the Salt Lake City on its energy and environmental policies.
In 2002, UE3 became Utah Clean Energy (“UCE”) to broaden its outreach to the clean energy business community and other non-traditional stakeholders. Today, Utah Clean Energy is a Utah-based 501c3 nonprofit organization working to advance energy efficiency and clean renewable energy technologies across the State.
